About Asbestos

Before 1989, hundreds of products used asbestos because of its strength and resistance to heat and fire. Although some properties of asbestos were beneficial, health experts discovered that asbestos is a hazardous carcinogen that can cause a type of lung cancer called mesothelioma. As a result, regulations were put in place restricting the use of asbestos and, in some cases, requiring asbestos to be safely removed so that it no longer poses risk to anyone potentially exposed to asbestos fibers. While some aspects of asbestos removal, such as asbestos remediation cost, seem time-consuming and expensive, the consequences of not having it removed could even be more expensive, and most importantly, it poses serious health risks.
